WEBSITE
This website was designed and built for OART by Sorted Design International, a branding and web studio in Cape Town.
Most people who arrive here are doing one of two things. Either they are weighing up whether OART can carry an event they are responsible for, or they already work with OART and want something specific, usually their own numbers. Those are opposite needs, and a single page of company copy serves neither of them well.
So the site is built as two routes. The capability pages answer the first question in detail. The client login and the guest data go straight to the second, without making anyone read a brochure to get there.
Invitations and RSVPs, guest logistics, engagement tools, speaker and content management, exhibitor and sponsor solutions, and data. Each has its own page rather than a line on a services list.
That is deliberate. Nobody searches for event management in the abstract. They search for the piece that is currently causing them a problem, a registration flow that keeps breaking, transfers that need coordinating, sponsors asking for proof the money worked. The site is arranged the way the problem arrives.
OART has delivered over 1300 events. Claims like that are easy to make and easy to ignore, so the site does not lean on the number. Our Art holds 177 of those events written up individually, with the guest count, the event type and the services provided on each one, filterable by year.
It is the least glamorous part of the site and the most persuasive. A prospective client scrolling that list is not reading marketing copy. They are looking for an event that resembles theirs, and usually finding one.
The contact page does not present a wall of fields. It asks four questions, one at a time, the way a person would: what can we help with, what is your name, where can we reach you, what is your number.
Nothing clever is happening underneath. It simply removes the moment where someone looks at a long form and decides to do it later. Every enquiry lands in the team’s own dashboard the instant it is sent, before any email is involved, so nothing depends on a message getting through.
Behind the site sits OvationHQ, a plain back office built for this business rather than a generic admin screen. Enquiries, blog posts, pages, menus, team access and brand files all live in one place, in ordinary language, with the WordPress machinery kept out of sight.
The point is independence. Publishing a post, answering an enquiry or swapping a page of copy does not require a developer, a support ticket or a phone call to us.
Event work does not happen at a desk. It happens in a venue, in a car park, in a queue at registration, on a phone held in one hand. Every layout here was checked in that state first and widened afterwards, rather than the other way around.
A site like this is never really finished. New events get added to Our Art as they happen, the Resources Hub grows as the team writes, and the capability pages will shift as the technology does. None of that needs a rebuild, which is the difference between a website that ages well and one that quietly stops being true.
